The main difference between our Linux and Windows packages is that our Windows plans include support for ASP, ASP.net and Microsoft Access databases.
We are no longer hosting any of our new servers at The Planet due to the problems we experienced about 2 months ago. All servers are now owned by us and co-located at leading data centres. ONTVANGEN INFO:

Je hebt om te beginnen een site nodig. Die huur je samen met een domein bij een provider. Daarop draait een stuk software voor het forum; in ons geval Snitz maar je hebt er veel meer (zoals PHPBB etc.) Snitz is open source en kost niets. Wel een paar opmerkingen;
- voor een forum, ongeacht de versie, heb je ook een database nodig voor opslag van de gegevens.
Die is belangrijk voor de snelheid en betrouwbaarheid.
- afhankelijk van het type forum, asp of php, heb je een server nodig. Voor asp moet je een Microsoft Server hebben; voor PHP een windows server. Wij draaien dus op ASP.
- Wij hebben destijds gekozen voor Snitz omdat Yabbse en ook PHPBB
regelmatig gehacked werden/worden. Sinds Snitz hebben we daar geen last meer van.

Om Snitz (en ook die anderen) te gebruiken heb je niet veel kennis nodig. Om het initieel te installeren of later uit te breiden wel degelijk.

Voor zover ik weet is invision powerboard een goed betaal-pakket en wordt door sommige free-forum aanbieders ook free-aangeboden.

Wil je ruim keuze aan templates, het zelf vlot en vrij makkelijk installeren dan kom je bij phpBB forum. Neem een webhost die cpanel+fantastico+php+mysql support en je kan met een paar simpele handelingen een hopelijk behoorlijk recente versie instaleren.

Wil je een eigen hosting account: slechts 15 per jaar (50mb space,1,2gb traffic per maand) , of (100mb, 3gb traffic) : $20 jaar.
...
Wil je een bestaande .info naam of nieuwe naam afschermen (anoniem maken) : $8 per jaar
...
Als je het zelf niet erg vind dat jan alleman kan zien wie er achter je domeinnaam zit, dan kan je zo je gratis .info namen gebruiken. Heb je liever afgeschermd. Dan heb je 2 opties:

1) kom op een reeds afgeschermde webhost en neem daar dan een subdirectory.

2) Schaf een nieuwe naam aan (.info kost slechts $5 per jaar, de andere 6,7 of 8..) en zet er Whois Protection op (ongeveer $8 per jaar)
